Canterbury five-eighth Josh Reynolds will take veteran utility Kurt Gidley's spot in the New South Wales side for State of Origin I next Wednesday night.
Blues coach Laurie Daley had narrowed it down to Reynolds and South Sydney's John Sutton on Tuesday after Gidley was ruled out for six weeks with a foot injury.Reynolds will become the 54th debutant since the last time New South Wales booked a series win.Eighteenth man Sutton is clear to play for the Rabbitohs against Newcastle at the Olympic stadium on Saturday.Daley admitted telling Sutton he had lost out to Reynolds was one of the hardest things he has ever done. The pair trained against one another in the morning before Daley and chief selector Bob Fulton came to the decision after lunchtime.Thursday, May 30, 2013
